Replica Omega watches is vintage and then there is retro, the Breitling we have here is one that is both. This chronograph called the "Chrono-Matic" is nothing if not interesting looking. The oval surrounding the two sub-dials is something we don't see too often (although we would really like to), and the multi-colored face give this Breitling a really cool look. This watch is 100% Breitling, even though it doesn't fit into the Navitimer familiy which we so often praise. Yes, this is the kind of watch we wish Breitling was still ***, but that's another story for another day. Replica Omega watches
this information was provided by the seller in an older listing and to us it doesn't make much sense, as we're not sure why the Thunderbirds would have an X-Ray examination unit. This presents an interesting and very real issue in discerning provenance in vintage watches. In four of the five listings of this watch, no mention is given to the meaning of this inscription. Only in one does the seller mention that this is likely a watch given to a member of the women's aux x-ray unit. The price this watch is offered for also varies by thousands of euros, which leads us to believe he's having a pretty hard time selling it.So lets call this spade a spade here. This vintage Submariner is very cool, but with the unproven provenance, it becomes less attractive because we simply don't know what we're paying for. If we could finitely track down what the military inscription meant, this could be a very cool vintage Submariner for a someone looking for a piece of US Militaria. Some watch companies are known for certain looks. Breitling, in particular, is known for massive, manly, sports watches that serve a particular purpose (see Navitimer, Emergency, etc). This Breitling however, circa the 4th decade of last century, is not massive, is not all that manly, and is definitely not a sports watch, and we like it a lot. It is a fine, 18K gold tank watch with new Italian crocodile strap. It is selling for $2100 and that seems like a fair price to us. This makes us wonder why Breitling ever stopped *** dress watches in the first place...Take a look by clicking here.Replica Omega watches
We thought we could continue with our theme of retro digital watches from the 1970s, and boy have we found a good one. The JLC below is a purely digital watch, but the Omega that we have found for you here is a digital watch AND an analog watch. In fact, it was the very first watch to couple the two technologies together, something that has become a common feature on today's sport watches (think Breitling, Tissot, Tag Heuer, et. al.).It is called the Seamaster Chrono-Quartz and it was actually designed for the 1976 Olympic games in Montreal. Wait a minute, a digital Seamaster?
This is the very same movement that was used in the Royal Air Force MK10 watches, and is perhaps one the most sought after IWC movements of the time period. This watch is in immaculate condition, in fact it looks like it's never even been polished. It shows little to no wear, meaning it most likely sat in a display window or safe for decades. It is currently selling for $2695, which is a very reasonable price for a beautiful, understated but very high quality watch. This is a great watch for those of you out there who want a legendary vintage watch from a storied manufacturer, but don't want to draw too much attention to yourself. Basically this is the exact opposite of the Rolex featured below.Click here for more details on this 1950's Gubelin with an IWC movement.Replica Omega watches
